The Story Behind Joshital
The inspiration for Joshital stemmed from a simple longing—the taste of home. Rupali Joshi, a native of Nainital and Haldwani, dearly missed the authentic Pahadi dishes she grew up with. Settling in Bangalore, she found that Uttarakhand’s traditional cuisine was nearly nonexistent in the city. This led to a bold decision—if she couldn’t find it, she would create it.
During a trip to her hometown, Rupali carefully collected traditional Pahadi spices such as Gandraini and Jambu, determined to bring her home’s flavors back to Bangalore. Upon returning, she perfected her recipes, and the dream of Joshital was born—a kitchen dedicated to fresh, homemade, and traditional Pahadi food.

Joshital specializes in time-honored Uttarakhand recipes, prepared with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients that reflect the soul of the Himalayan region. Their menu includes:
