Freshworks quickly emerged as one of the top SaaS businesses in India, competing primarily with Zoho Corp. Interestingly, both Krishnasamy and Mathrubootham had previously worked at Zoho Corp before venturing out on their own.
On September 22, Freshworks made headlines by selling 28.5 million regular supplies, reaching a market record of $48.75 for the day.
Krishnasamy and Mathrubootham initially connected through Zoho, where they both promoted customer assistance services. They capitalized on their expertise to start their own SaaS venture in 2010, with just six employees.
Over the next eight years, Freshworks worked tirelessly to increase its revenue to $100 million. A pivotal moment came when the company transitioned from Freshdesk to Freshworks, expanding its customer base and establishing a presence in the US market
