Early Foundation and Academic Qualifications
Born and raised in Puttur, Karnataka, Rao began his martial arts journey at the age of 9 with Shito Ryu Karate. Transitioning through Shotokan Karate and ultimately finding his true calling in Taekwondo at age 16, he has since earned prestigious certifications, including the 4th Dan Black Belt from Kukkiwon, South Korea. His academic pursuits include a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and a Master’s degree in Taekwondo. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sports Administration and Management from East Bridge University, Paris.

In 2012, Rao founded Rao’s Yuva Academy, a now nationally recognized and ISO 9001:2015 certified institution, headquartered in Kakati, Belagavi. The academy has trained over 500 students from rural and semi-urban areas, contributing significantly to India’s national Taekwondo talent pool. The academy is affiliated with the Taekwondo Federation of India and the Taekwondo Association of Karnataka.
